Anyone who has been overweight for some time would have tried to diet before and to get motivated yet again is difficult. They see the difficulty rather than the positive results they may get. This failure sits in their minds and they fear a repeat of the expereince. The most difficult challenge to help someone lose weight is to get them motivated, really strongly psyched.
As someone who helps people to get to their target weight I am really pleased when I am asked how to lose 10 pounds in a week or how to lose a pound a day. It means they already have a sense of urgency. I don’t have to generate the urgency. I can work on the urgency and goal that they already have and this will help them until they get their first rewards. Since real visible results come to them within as little as a week it gives the motivation a meaningful boost. There is no greater boost to one’s commitment than seeing results from effort.
It is far easier to drop weight fast than to do so over a long period. Being decisive about changing habits is the only way to do it. If you can anticipate results, visible results, in the near future it makes every effort easier. It is much harder to maintain motivation for a result that is sometime in the distant future.
There is no danger in losing weight fast. I don’t know of anybody who has come to harm by fast weight loss. It is how you go about it that may cause some harm.
The following are some tips for seeing the pound fall away fast:
- Set a definite goal with your target weight and date defined. Make it achievable but challenging.
- Take some vitamin supplements.
- See every step towards your objective in a positive light. It is a reward for yourself you are working on.
- Never feel like a victim. Know that you are achieving something big.
- Choose a diet that is aggressive but well balanced.
- Make sure to drink enough water and get enough sleep.
Thus avoid slow Diets. You will not keep your motivation and will soon fall back into old routines. Make the decision firmly and start immediately. For an overweight person losing the excess is probably the most rewarding thing they can do.
